Dear Uwe, dear Ralf,

perhaps you remember that I gave a presentation (with you both as co-authors) at the EUMETSAT conference 2010 about the options to use CDO for processing our satellite products (based on your implementation of the "import_cmsaf"-Operator).
Attached you can find the extended abstracts of that contribution. It has some very simple examples that could perhaps be helpful for new users.
